Apple has introduced the iPhone 16 & 16 Plus both powered by the new A18 chipset. This upgrade brings faster performance, better efficiency, and advanced AI capabilities, designed to handle Apple’s Apple Intelligence technology.
Display and Design
The iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch display, while the 16 Plus comes with a 6.7-inch screen. Both displays are the same size as last year’s models but do not offer the higher refresh rates found on the Pro models. These screens can reach up to 2,000 nits of brightness in sunlight and drop to just 1 nit in dark environments. Apple has also improved its durability with a stronger Ceramic Shield.
Performance and Gaming
The highlight of this year’s iPhones is the A18 chip, which offers 30% faster CPU performance and 40% faster GPU speeds compared to the previous iPhone 15 models. It also uses less power, making it more efficient. The new chip allows the iPhone 16 series to run high-end games like Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, previously limited to Pro models.
Camera Features
The iPhone 16’s 48MP main camera captures detailed photos and videos, and a new feature allows users to take 24MP photos for better quality with smaller file sizes. The new ultra-wide camera offers improved low-light performance and autofocus for macro shots.
New AI and Action Button
Apple introduced a new Camera Control that uses AI to identify objects and events, adding details directly to your calendar. The new Action Button replaces the Alert Slider, offering shortcuts for tasks like starting voice memos or controlling apps.
Pricing and Availability
The iPhone 16 starts at $800, and the 16 Plus at $900, with pre-orders opening on September 13. The phones will be available on September 20 in over 50 countries.
