With Google’s hardware launch event set for August 13, leaks about the new devices are pouring in. Today, two new images have surfaced, showing the Google Pixel 9 & Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is the true size successor to the Pixel 8 Pro. The leaked images reveal the Pixel 9 on the left and the Pixel 9 Pro XL on the right.
Google is expected to announce four new smartphones: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Pixel 9 Pro will have the same size as the Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 but with upgraded internals from the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will replace last year’s Pixel Fold. The new naming might be confusing at first, but it will make sense with time.
Pricing leaks suggest that some models will cost the same as their predecessors, while others will see price increases. The new images don’t show much new information. The Pixel 9 will have one less camera than the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. All the new devices will feature a redesigned camera island on the back. Last week, rumors detailed the cameras for these phones. They are all expected to be powered by Google’s next-generation Tensor G4 chipset.
