Lei Jun, the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, has announced that the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip foldable smartphones will be launched later this month. These devices will be the first to roll off the production line at Xiaomi’s new Smart Factory in Changping, Beijing.
The state-of-the-art facility spans 81,000 square meters and can produce 10 million flagship smartphones annually. Xiaomi has invested a substantial CNY 2.4 billion (approximately $330 million) into this cutting-edge plant. The company provided detailed insights on Weibo about the innovative improvements that set this factory apart.
At the heart of the factory is an intelligent manufacturing platform capable of making autonomous decisions to optimize production processes. This advanced system can diagnose equipment issues and even automate the procurement of raw materials and components, ensuring a seamless manufacturing flow.
With just over three weeks left in the month, anticipation is building for the Mix Fold 4, which is expected to be released globally. It remains unclear if the Mix Flip, Xiaomi’s first clamshell foldable, will also see a global release. As the launch date approaches, fans can look forward to official teasers and more information about these groundbreaking devices.
