WhatsApp, the world’s most widely used messaging program, will no longer function on mobile phones running certain obsolete operating systems as of October 24.
This means that mobile phones running on older operating systems will no longer be able to run WhatsApp, and owners of such mobile phones will have to update their operating systems to run the messaging application.
WhatsApp will no longer work on iOS 0.5.2 operating systems, including Apple’s iOS 10 and 11 operating systems and Android 4.1 operating systems.
In general, it cannot run WhatsApp even on iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 mini sets, including 5C Pro.
Also, WhatsApp won’t be able to run on Samsung phones or phones from other companies that use the very old Android version 4.1 operating system.
According to WhatsApp, after October 24, WhatsApp will not be able to run on JioPhone and JioPhone Two on iOS 0.5.2 operating system.
The company clarified that users of older mobile phones would have to upgrade their operating systems, which means they will have to come to systems after the above-operating systems.
It is also worth mentioning that most of the iPhone phones, i.e. all phones after the iPhone 6, run on the iOS 12 operating system. At the same time, now mobile phones from Korea and other countries, including Chinese companies, also run on Android 10.
There have been 12 Android operating systems released by Google, while Apple works on its own OS operating system for the iPhone.
Almost all mobiles manufactured in China use the Android operating system, while Samsung also uses the same operating system.
Even before WhatsApp ended support for the application on recent older operating systems, it had ended support on several mobile phones.
