The world’s largest instant messaging application, WhatsApp, has now begun testing its best feature to date, “Message Edit,” on a limited scale. “Enhance your messaging experience with the powerful Edit Feature in WhatsApp. Say goodbye to typos and errors. Learn more now!
News of the introduction of the Edit Message feature on WhatsApp initially emerged in June 2022, with the possibility of its release by the beginning of 2023. However, it could not be done as planned.
Later, in February 2023, it was reported that the testing of the mentioned feature would begin soon, and limited users would now have access to it. According to the website “WABetainfo,” which keeps track of WhatsApp updates, the Message Edit feature’s testing has been made available to limited users, including Android and desktop users.
The report clearly stated that the “Message Edit” feature has not been completed yet, but experts will soon finalize it, after which it will undergo extensive testing. Possibly, the mentioned feature will be introduced for extensive testing until the end of the current year, and it will be officially launched by the beginning of 2024.
According to the feature, users will have the option to edit a wrongly sent message within 15 minutes, but they will not be able to edit it after that time. Under this feature, users will only be able to edit the text and change sent links. Possibly, under the Edit Message feature, users will also be able to select and modify or edit the sent images and videos, but it is premature to say anything about it.
Prior to this feature, last year WhatsApp introduced a feature that allows users in Pakistan to retrieve deleted messages on their smartphones. Under the mentioned feature, users can now retrieve a deleted message caused by an error by tapping “Undo” within 30 seconds.
