Elon Musk, who recently took control of the micro-blogging website Twitter, has given a clear answer to those criticizing Twitter for charging monthly fees from verified accounts, saying that they can do what they want to do. Still, blue-tick users will pay $8 a month.
Elon Musk took control of Twitter between October 27 and 28, buying the platform in April 2022 for $44 billion. After taking control of Twitter while firing the CEO, he also fired several others.
After firing top executives and taking control of Twitter, Elon Musk hinted that BlueTick account holders would have to pay $5 to $20 monthly fees.
After the news of the monthly fee came out, people criticized Elon Musk, but he ignored the criticism and made it clear that the Blue Tick users would have to pay the fee anyway.
In his series of tweets, Elon Musk provided more information and made it clear that whoever wants to do what they want, let them complain as much as they want, let them cry, but the blue tickers will get 8 US dollars per month, ie. A fee of 2 thousand Pakistani rupees will have to be paid.
In another tweet, he said he wished the monthly fee payers all the best.
Elon Musk also stated that Blue Tick accounts that will be charged monthly fees would be charged in the local currency.
He said that account holders who pay a monthly fee would also get nice features, allowing them to see very few ads on their feed.
According to Elon Musk, accounts that pay a monthly fee will be given access to the feature of tweeting audio clips in addition to tweeting long videos.
Elon Musk said that the fee collection system would enable the platform to pay content creators well and create opportunities for them, but he did not elaborate further.
After Elon Musk’s recent tweets, it is believed that Twitter will now charge $8 per verified account holder instead of $20 per month.
However, it is still being determined whether the monthly fee will be charged more to brands and institutional accounts or all accounts will have to pay the same fee.
However, apart from the accounts of institutions, brands, and companies, famous personalities will also be charged higher fees than ordinary users. Still, it is too early to say anything in this regard.
