Samsung releases its foldable phones in China each year under the W-series name, including the upcoming Samsung W25. These devices closely resemble the Z-series but have design changes for local appeal. The Samsung W25, like others in the W-series, includes a premium retail box to justify its higher price. They often come with more RAM and storage than the Z-models.
The new Samsung W25 is based on the exclusive Z Fold Special Edition. This model is currently only available in South Korea. It has bigger displays with a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.0-inch main screen. However, it does not support the S Pen and features a 200MP main camera. This replaces the 50MP camera in the regular Z Fold6.
The Samsung W25 comes in black with gold highlights on the edges and a camera bump. It also has a textured pattern on the sides, different from the usual smooth finish. Samsung also creates clamshell foldables for the W-series. The W25 Flip is based on the Z Flip6 model. Its retail package includes a charger and case, unlike the basic Z Flip6 package.
Samsung China still sells the regular Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. The W24, based on last year’s Z Fold5, costs CNY 13,000 for the 16GB/1TB model. The Z Fold6 is priced at CNY 14,000 for the 12GB/512GB version and CNY 16,000 for the 12GB/1TB variant. The W-series offers more than just extra RAM and fancy designs. Their retail packages include accessories, making them a more luxurious choice.
