Anticipation is building around Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE, which may hit the market in time for a summer debut. Recent developments suggest the device is nearing completion, with the phone recently undergoing Geekbench tests—a few weeks after reports surfaced about initial One UI test builds.
The tested model of the S24 FE, recognized as the international version, features the Exynos 2400 processor. Noteworthy is the processor’s unique configuration, as it’s one of the rare 10-core CPUs available today. However, the clock speed of the Cortex-X4 prime core registered slightly lower than anticipated at 3.1GHz compared to the usual 3.2GHz. The other cores, including two Cortex-A720 clusters and a Cortex-A520 cluster, performed as expected.
While these results might raise some eyebrows, it’s important to consider that the device could have been operating in Samsung’s Light Performance Mode, which is known to reduce clock speeds, though specific details on the reduction remain unspecified by Samsung.
Stability in the device’s specifications is evident with the RAM, maintained at 8GB, though rumors suggest a possible upgrade option to 12GB, according to leaks from British carrier EE. This upgrade may coincide with enhanced storage options, ranging from 128GB using UFS 3.1 technology to 256GB with the faster UFS 4.0 standard.
Although some industry watchers suggest a late 2024 release, the current pace of testing might mean the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could be ready for a launch earlier, potentially aligning with a summer release schedule.
