Samsung’s next wearable, the Galaxy Watch FE, has been extensively leaked today, revealing both images and full specifications of the device. The Watch FE, expected to debut at Samsung’s Unpacked event on July 10, is anticipated to refresh the brand’s entry-level offering in its smartwatch lineup.
The new Galaxy Watch FE will feature a 1.2-inch 396×396 Super AMOLED display housed in a 40mm aluminum body. It will offer 50m water resistance alongside IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certifications, ensuring durability and resilience. Under the hood, it’s equipped with the Exynos W920 SoC and comes with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The device will also support magnetic wireless charging, including a 247 mAh battery.
Running Wear OS with Samsung’s One UI Watch 5.0, the Watch FE does not yet include the latest 6.0 interface iteration, which was just announced by Samsung. This places the Watch FE a step behind the newest software but still offers a robust array of features for an entry-level model.
The Watch FE is well-equipped with sensors, featuring an accelerometer, barometer, bioelectrical impedance analysis, an electrical cardiac sensor, a gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, a brightness sensor, and an optical heart rate monitor. These features make it a capable fitness and health tracker within Samsung’s wearable ecosystem.
While the Watch FE bears similarities to the Galaxy Watch4 from 2021, its position as an entry-level option in Samsung’s smartwatch portfolio makes it an attractive choice for consumers looking for quality technology without a premium price tag, although its exact price remains undisclosed.
The Galaxy Watch FE is set to be unveiled alongside the higher-end Galaxy Watch7 series, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the new Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, promising a significant expansion of Samsung’s tech offerings.
