There have been rumors about a new slim, book-style foldable from Samsung, possibly called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition. While it was initially expected to launch on September 25, that date has come and gone with no release. However, there’s now some new information about the potential release date.
According to a leak from a Korean retailer, the device could be called the Galaxy Fold 6 Special Edition, not the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. This could be a typo, or it might be the official name. The retailer’s page is no longer accessible, so it’s hard to confirm at this point. The leak claims that pre-orders in Korea will start on October 18 and run until October 24, with the official release happening on October 25. This suggests that the original leak got the right date but missed the correct month.
We have yet to confirm the leak’s accuracy, but if true, the Galaxy Fold Special Edition will offer impressive features. It may come with a larger 8-inch internal folding screen, a 6.5-inch cover screen, and a 200 MP main camera. It’s also rumored to be slimmer than the Galaxy Z Fold6 which launched in July, measuring 10.6mm when folded.
Interestingly, Samsung might sell this foldable device only in Korea and China, restricting access to these high-end specs elsewhere. We’ll have to wait and see if Samsung confirms these details.
