Samsung is actively working on the Samsung Galaxy A36, which will replace the Galaxy A35. Recent Geekbench tests have revealed that the Galaxy A36 prototype is running Android 15. This is surprising, as Google only released Android 15 for its Pixel phones recently.
Samsung usually introduces new Android versions with its flagship devices. The Galaxy S25 series, expected in January, will likely debut with Android 15. This suggests the Galaxy A36 may launch after that, with Android 15 pre-installed.
If the Galaxy A36 launches with Android 15, it will be among the first mid-range Samsung phones with this version. The phone is expected to receive six major Android updates, similar to the Galaxy A16 5G. Starting with Android 15, it could eventually be upgraded to Android 21 by the end of its lifecycle.
In terms of hardware, the Galaxy A36 may feature either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. The Geekbench test prototype had, but more con6GB of RAMfigurations could be offered at launch. This marks a shift from the Galaxy A35, which used Samsung’s Exynos 1380 chipset, signaling a possible move to Qualcomm processors for the A36. The Galaxy A36 is shaping up to be a significant upgrade, offering the latest software and potentially improved hardware. Samsung is expected to reveal more details in the coming months.
