Oppo is set to broaden its global footprint with the launch of the Reno 12 series, introducing not only the Reno 12 Pro but also the Reno 12 F in both 4G and 5G variants later this month. Today, new details emerged about these upcoming devices, showcasing their specifications and regional availability.
The Reno 12 F 4G model will be powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset, while the 5G variant will feature the more advanced Dimensity 6300. Both models will be equipped with a 50 MP main camera using the OmniVision OV50D sensor, complemented by an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP sensor, likely for depth sensing or macro shots.
Selfie enthusiasts will appreciate the 32 MP front camera, which utilizes Sony’s IMX615 sensor. A distinctive design feature of the Reno 12 F series is an LED ring encircling one of the rear cameras, adding a unique aesthetic touch.
However, the 4G model will lack NFC capabilities, and it is unclear whether the 5G variant will include this feature. The devices will be launched in three eye-catching colors: green, orange, and gray. Pricing for the 4G model is expected to start at at least $300 in Southeast Asia, indicating Oppo’s strategy to position these devices in the mid-range smartphone market segment.
This launch represents an important step for Oppo as it adapts its offerings to meet diverse consumer needs across different markets.
