New leaks about the upcoming OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro are creating excitement. According to Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Ace 5 will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This is an upgrade from its predecessor, the Ace 3, which had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Ace 4 was skipped due to tetraphobia, a cultural aversion to the number four.
The leaks also suggest the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Both models will come with a battery capacity of at least 6,000 mAh. They will have flat metal frames, optical fingerprint sensors, and a high-spec “1.5K” 8T LTPO OLED display. This display will be manufactured by BOE, ensuring high-quality visuals.
In terms of cameras, both the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will include a 50 MP main rear camera. They will also have two additional cameras, though no periscope telephoto lens for now. The Ace 5 Pro is expected to stay exclusive to the Chinese market, as per the latest information. Meanwhile, the Ace 5 might be rebranded as the OnePlus 13R for international markets. This is similar to how the Ace 3 was marketed as the OnePlus 12R outside China.
