Huawei Introduced 2 New Flagship Phones, P50 Pocket and P50 Pro

In the wake of US sanctions, Huawei faces difficulties selling its smartphones due to the absence of Google Services and applications. The company’s long drive to introduce new flagship phones outside of China has been stalled, and so far, the Huawei P50, P50 Pro and its foldable model P50 Pocket have not been offered for sale outside of China.

But now, long after, Huawei has introduced two flagship phones globally in the form of P50 Pocket and P50 Pro. In the first phase, the two phones will be offered for sale in the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and South America.

The Chinese company launched its Mate X foldable series; however, it was the P50 Pocket that made headlines. P50 Pocket is the first phone design comparable with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Motorola Razr folding phone.

Display

The P50 series inspired the design of this latest phone that folds the Huawei phone, but it can be close, and the design is based on 3D structure glass. Its unlocked form has a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh, and the selfie camera is an elongated punch hole.

The locked phone has an inch display on the front, which shows the time, date, and notifications.

The company claims the phone’s service widgets are made for third-party apps such as music players, maps and QR codes. Users can perform navigation through the large display, and directions are visible on the screen that covers the phone.

Cameras

Its P50 Pocket has a setup of three cameras on the back, including an ultra-wide 40-megapixel main camera. 13-megapixel Ultra Wide and 32-megapixel Ultra Spectrum cameras. This camera is used to enhance the quality of colour rendering.

Battery & Weight

ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER, its P50 Pocket has a 4000 mAh battery with 40 watts of fast charging. The device weighs 7.2 millimetres thick in the foldable version and weighs 190g.

Memory

The device will come in 8-12GB RAM and 256 and 512GB Storage options.

Price

The model that comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 1299 euros (more than 250,000 Pakistani rupees).

The premium version with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage costs 1599 euros (more than 318,000 Pakistani rupees).

The phone debuted on the market in China at the end of summer 2021. It has a 6.6-inch bent-edged OLD display, with a 120-Hz resolution and HDR support.

Cameras

Concerning the camera’s setup is in question. The P50 Pro has Lisa branded cameras equipped with 10 channels of sensors and higher quality telephoto lenses than ever before.

The P50 Pro has a 50-megapixel primary camera that has features such as an F1.8 aperture as well as optical image stabilization. Additionally, a 40-megapixel camera in black and white comes with an F1.6 aperture.

The phone’s front features a camera of 13 megapixels with a punch-hole style. The 12-megapixel Ultra Wide is also part of the phone. A 64-megapixel camera for periscope zooming is included in the camera, which offers 3.5x Zoom optically.

P50 Pro P50 Pro comes with a 4360 mAh battery that has wired charging of 66 watts and a 50-watt wireless charge.

Price

With 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, the phone retails at 1199 euros (over 238,000 Pakistani rupees).
