Today, HTC has officially introduced its latest smartphone, the HTC U24 Pro, as it attempts to regain a foothold in the competitive smartphone market. The new model boasts a 6.8-inch OLED touchscreen with a 1080×2436 resolution and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, protected by an unspecified type of Gorilla Glass.
At the heart of the U24 Pro is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, supported by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. This makes it effortlessly capable of handling multitasking and storage needs. The device operates on the latest Android 14 platform and is equipped with an IP67 rating, ensuring it is both dust—and water-resistant.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the U24 Pro’s versatile camera setup, which includes a 50 MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a f/1.88 aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, a 50 MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom, and a 50 MP front-facing camera with autofocus, promising high-quality images and videos.
The phone measures 167.1 x 74.9 x 8.98 mm, weighs 198.7 grams and is powered by a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 60W wired and 15W wireless charging, along with 5W reverse wireless charging capabilities. Additionally, it features a 3.5mm headphone jack and a nostalgic two-color notification LED.
Priced at €564 in the EU, the HTC U24 Pro faces tough competition from several Chinese brands offering similar features, often at lower prices. Despite this, HTC’s latest offering stands out with its robust feature set and its commitment to maintaining its presence in the smartphone industry.
