New live photos of the upcoming Google Pixel 9 have surfaced, this time from an unexpected source in Algeria. Whether it’s a functional unit or a dummy model remains uncertain, but the footage has sparked excitement among tech enthusiasts.
The latest leak reveals the Pixel 9 in a new color named Peony, inspired by the flower. This mobile phone boasts 256GB of storage, suggesting it might be a real unit rather than a prototype. Additionally, previous leaks hint at the Pixel 9 featuring 12GB of RAM, an upgrade from the 8GB standard in the previous vanilla series. The device is also expected to debut the new Tensor G4 chipset. Hani Mohamed Bioud, who shared the photos, has promised more details soon.
Bioud’s tweet, which includes a photo of the pink Pixel 9, confirms some of the anticipated specifications:
- Storage: 256GB
- Color: Pink
The Pixel 9’s design features a distinctive visor bump that houses two cameras, indicating this is the standard model. Google is also preparing a smaller Pixel 9 Pro with three cameras, including a 5x periscope lens. The standard Pixel 9 is expected to have a 6.24-inch display, while the Pixel 9 Pro will feature a slightly larger 6.34-inch screen. Additionally, Google plans to introduce a Pro XL version with a 6.73-inch display. The design of the Pixel 9 matches the renders that were leaked back in March.
Interestingly, Google is set to officially unveil the Pixel 9 series on August 13, earlier than the usual October release for flagship Pixel models.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official launch date.
