Oppo‘s upcoming foldable device is rumored to be the Oppo Find N5. It has generated buzz following a leak from the well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station. Although the post was later removed, it provided intriguing details about the successor to the Find N3, expected to skip the 4 in its name due to tetraphobia.
The Oppo Find N5 is anticipated to feature Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor and a 2K+ inner folding display. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate its 50 MP main camera equipped with a Sony sensor and a periscope telephoto camera, all housed within a circular camera module.
One of the most notable aspects of the Find N5 is its impressive thinness. It is just over 9mm thick and challenges the Honor Magic V3‘s status as the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone. Even if it doesn’t claim the top spot, its sub-10mm thickness is remarkable for a foldable device.
The Find N5 is expected to offer better water resistance compared to its predecessor, which had an IPX4 rating for splash resistance. The new device will introduce a three-stage alert slider for improved functionality. It is projected to be released between January and March, initially in China. An international version might be available, possibly rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2. This version is anticipated to have the same specifications as the Find N5. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
