With the latest Galaxy AI technology, Samsung has announced plans to enhance its next generation of foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6. The news comes from a recent blog post by Won-Joon Choi, the Executive Vice President & Head of the Mobile R&D Office at Samsung’s Mobile Experience Business. Expected to launch in early July, these devices aim to set new standards in mobile technology.
Choi highlighted the company’s initiative to fine-tune the Galaxy AI better to suit the unique capabilities of their foldable devices. Our foldable phones represent the pinnacle of flexibility and versatility within the Samsung Galaxy portfolio. By integrating these with our sophisticated Galaxy AI, we are poised to explore unprecedented possibilities, he explained.
The upcoming devices will feature a hybrid AI model that offers a pragmatic and secure user experience. This approach combines the rapid response and enhanced privacy of on-device AI with the broad capabilities of cloud-based AI, facilitated through strategic partnerships with leading industry figures.
Samsung plans to broaden the capabilities of its Live Translate feature. The feature will soon support voice calls on third-party messaging apps running on Samsung’s in-house AI language translation model to ensure the privacy of personal data.
Choi is optimistic about the future of mobile AI technology, particularly with the ongoing advancements in Neural Processing Units (NPUs), which allow for increasingly sophisticated on-device AI features. The power of NPUs is advancing at an extraordinary pace, he stated, bringing more AI capabilities directly into the hands of users.
With these innovations, Samsung is eager to redefine the mobile experience, maintaining its position as a leader in the technology curve.
